What to expect....
Being client-led means that how a session goes largely depends on the individual. The first session sometimes involves getting to know each other a little more, figuring out what the goals of the work together will be and discussing how the general therapeutic plan might go, as well as addressing any immediate 'just beneath the surface' topics. Often by time people get to therapy, they are 'bursting at the seams' and delve right in. There is no right or wrongs. This is your 'Time and Space' for what you need.
It is advisable that initial appointments are consistent for an average of 6 sessions before re-evaluating progress and the plan. Some people may opt to attend therapy on a more casual basis.

Real talk...
The most important therapeutic approach is a warm, trusting and genuine working relationship with your therapist, where you feel heard and supported. This is definitely the underpinning basis to any and all healing that comes about through our work together.
I see it as a journey we take together, sometimes the road is rough and the 'valleys' can be deep. A genuine trust and caring rapport with your Therapist is vital to make those brave steps together.
Clinical tools and approaches have proven to bring about healing and create change in more and more effective ways over time. I have been driven to search out the most effective methods, and am passionate to offer up-to-date, 'cutting edge' techniques to provide the best service I can for my valued clientele. I am continuously upskilling so you can be confident that you are receiving a competent, informed and up to date service.
All are evidence-based practices...meaning they are clinically approved, and deemed safe and effective by professional and registered standards. Therapies are used in an integrative style, meaning one or more are used in combination at once to provide a seamless, optimally effective session.
What if you're not a talker? Many people are not verbal processers and in fact, research shows that verbal therapies used alone are not as effective. Many of the techniques below are considered non-verbal, or kinetic, in which they can require as little or as much talking as you are comfortable with, and still be effective. (This is particularly helpful with people who do not want to talk about a certain event.)
